Common questions

Do you call 811 before grinding?

Yes. Mississippi law requires a utility locate before digging, so we request one through 811 (Mississippi 811) before every job and wait for lines to be marked. It's free to you.

What happens to the grindings?

Grinding leaves a pile of wood chips and soil. By default we rake them back into the hole and leave the area neat. Many people use extra chips as mulch. If you'd like them hauled off, mention it when you ask for a quote.

Can you fit through my gate?

Usually. Tell us your gate width (or send a photo) when you ask for a quote, and we'll make sure we bring a machine that fits.

How deep do you grind?

Typically several inches below ground level, which is enough for grass or sod. If you plan to plant or build there, let us know and we'll discuss going deeper.

Do you remove the tree too?

We focus on stumps and roots. If the tree is still standing, have a tree service take it down first, then we'll handle the stump.
